Monasterio de la Viñas, Gran Reserva

MY RATING: 9/10

IN A NUTSHELL:  A full-bodied, robust, well-balanced, surprisingly delicious wine

ORIGIN:  Spain (Aragon)

VARIETALS: Garnacha, Tempranillo, Cariñena

SAQ PRICE: $20.25

This is a wine I will definitely keep on buying. In terms of value, it punches higher than its weight and is sure to impress. It has a lovely deep colour. It starts off light and fruity, with lots of spicy-woodsy-berry flavours, then finishes with a surprising oaky, vanilla aftertaste. Simply delicious. The only negative, as far as I’m concerned, is that it makes my teeth go blue. But this is seriously yummy stuff.
