Château Bouscassé Madiran 2011

MY RATING: 9/10

IN A NUTSHELL:  Simply delicious, robust red wine

ORIGIN: France (Sud-Ouest, Madiran)

VARIETALS: Tannat 50%, Cabernet Sauvignon 26%, Cabernet Franc 24%

SAQ PRICE: $20.45

My aunt introduced me to this one, and she clearly knows what types of red wine I like best! YUM. Reminiscent of the Monasterio de la Viñas Gran Reserva, this wine is deep red and has a lovely pruny, vanilla smell. It has a nice initial taste of prunes and berries and spice and a mild vanilla aftertaste. It is a very gratifying wine for that price. I’ll be buying more.
